Risk is everywhere. Society has taken great strides to become safer as we move into the future. However, we can leverage technology to make the world and our lives as individuals even safer, and we want your help through techniques, mobile games, apps or anything else you can think of. AIG is seeking college students to complete a challenge to develop risk-mitigation games and mobile applications for a safer and healthier world:
My Safer World: Games that teach risk probability and mitigationSPECIAL CHALLENGE INFO:My Healthy Life: Activity tracking and healthy food choices
My Safe World: Useful insights on pollution, traffic, public health
My Safe Home/School: Safety through connected devices and data, connecting in an emergency
My Digital Locker: Tracking and protecting your personal items (physical and digital).
- Students who have skills in designing and developing hardware or software for web, mobile, wearables, or Internet of things are invited to participate.
- This challenge can be completed by individuals or teams of up to 4 students.
- Four individuals or teams of winners will be invited (travel expenses paid) to present their ideas in Houston on Friday, September 23, 2016 to the AIG Innovation Team, AIG University Relations Team, and AIG Executives.
- In addition to the 3000 MindSumo points award for each team selected to travel to Houston, One team will receive $500 on presentation day and the three runners up will receive $200 each.
- Extra Reward Added: Finalists will meet AIG leaders to learn more about the Technology Analyst Program and Summer Internships.
Part I: Describe Your Safety Technology
1. What safety issue or concern does your idea help to make safer and why is it important?
2. How does your idea work to mitigate dangers or safety concerns?
3. Why will it be accepted and widely adopted (cite sources/data!)?
Part II: Present Your Safety Technology
Present your technology in a compelling way such as a PDF with mockups, a PowerPoint presentation, video, writeup/outline, or prototype of your technology.
Things to consider:
- Team challenge: You may work individually or as a team of up to 4 students to complete this challenge! All 4 team members will be flown out to Houston to present. If you are looking for teammates, we highly suggest posting your name, email or phone number, and skills to the comments to begin coordinating.
